The United Health Foundation’s latest annual report, America’s Health Rankings®, which it issued for the year 2016,  ranked Georgia 41st among all states and the District of Columbia on health outcomes.

The UHF's approach is guided by the World Health Organization definition of health, “Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”.

The model used to derive its rankings reflects that determinants of health directly influence health outcomes. It includes a health outcomes category and four categories of health determinants:  behaviors, community & environment, policy, and clinical care.
